No, you do not need to enter any personal details to use the app.

Was is an APK?

APK stands for "Android Package" and is simply a programme for an Android smart phone or tablet.

Why is the installation blocked by Android?

All apps that do not come directly from Google Play are blocked by Android by default and a security notice is given. As you unfortunately cannot download WhatsApp onto your tablet directly via Google Play, this is the only way to install it.

What are "unknown sources"?

All apps that do not come directly from Google Play are termed "unknown sources".

What do I need to ensure when selecting the phone number?

  1. It must be reachable during the installation.
  2. It may not be currently linked to another WhatsApp installation, otherwise the old WhatsApp installation won’t work anymore after the installation is complete.
  3. It can no longer be used afterwards, unless you reinstall WhatsApp.
  4. After the installation, you can be reached by your WhatsApp contacts via the telephone number – in other words, your contacts must save the number in their address book.

What happens if I use my mobile number?

If you are already using WhatsApp with your mobile and also use the same mobile number for your tablet during the installation, then WhatsApp will no longer work on your mobile after installing WhatsApp on your tablet. However, that is not a problem; just reinstall WhatsApp on your mobile and it will work again. You should then uninstall the on your tablet.

Is the mobile number provided free?

Yes, the mobile number can be used completely free of charge. Even after the order, if you don’t use the mobile number again, there won’t be any additional costs.

When will I receive the free mobile number?

After ordering, you will receive your free mobile number by post; postage generally takes 1-2 days.

You want to use a landline number?

No problem! WhatsApp works with landline numbers as well. All you need to do is make sure that numbers are only used for WhatsApp once.

You have not received a confirmation SMS?

The number you enter must have the correct format; with a country code (+44) for the UK and then your mobile number WITHOUT a zero at the front, e.g. +44 17612345678
If you have not received an SMS, just wait 5 minutes (there is a green bar) and then you can request the code by voice call. You must call the number indicated and then you will be told the code by an automated voice.
